Dance to ZE Beat is a monthly party that began in the spring of 2008 using the catalog of ZE Records as a starting point for all things from experimental and left of the dial disco (not disco), rhythmic post punk & no wave noise. From this springboard related sounds from electro, italo, dub, proto-house and techno occasionally seep in and out of the mix.

Dance to Ze Beat features classic gems from ZE Records, 99 Records, Sire, Y Records, Island, Factory, Sleeping Bag, ZYX, Les Disques de Crepuscule, Zanza, & Rams Horn. Also recent new releases and re-workings on Permanent Vacation, Cosmic Club France, Rvng, Compost Black Label, Rong, DC, Italians Do It Better & more.

Most parties also feature a film from the ZE era with musicians playing semi-amateur parts. Past movies have included: Downtown 81, The Long Island Four, Cave Girls, Rome 78, The Foreigner, Red Italy, Copkiller, Liquid Sky, and Unmade Beds.
